hangin' out in the yard

Spent the day reading the paper and rolling around in the grass and sun with Frankenpooch. And made some art, of course.

bead day

After my mom had me mend a few of her necklaces yesterday I was in the mood this afternooon to make a few more of my own...

speed bump

I remember some artist or teacher telling me about this creative exercise where you make a gestural brush strokes, something obscure and unconscious, and pull something out of it. So I set up my pad just out of arms length so I couldn't force too much of myself into it.

Anyway it was sort of fun and didn't take very long. I might do some more before I experiment again.

sequined bunny

Holy hell, there is just no short cuts in pinning hundreds and hundreds of sequins into a styrofoam rabbit!

ohhh yeaaah...

I've been making a whole bunch of new promos. I gave a bunch away and got all good feedback on them, people seem to like getting originals. So I made, like, 15 more today after I finished the necklaces (pretty!!) but I started experimenting with them a little bit to keep myself interested.

I've got to take my weekly shower now... becoming a college graduate in the morning!

sweet freedom

OMGOMGOMG! I totally forgot that I am now free to make whatever I want! I did this yesterday:

PLUS I reworked my Frankenpooch lettering:

Society of Illustrators show tonight!
Thanks to everyone who worked so hard on putting the show together for us, and shame on anyone who didn't show up! This is the first time I was ever sad leaving school. This was the first school I wanted to get up and go to everyday.

Todays the day

Just two hours before my final review, I hope I didn't forget anything!
I've been really getting into embroidery again, I guess I should have taken the class on it, but I didn't hear of it until this semester. Oh well. I guess I'm gonna fool around with it some more until.....?

Aaaannnyway last week my friend gave me a Concerta to help with the homework load, and instead of writing my 5 page paper I uhhhh, spent 8 hours straight doing this gross nasty embroidery without stopping:

This is my dog Christie. Stupid dog is falling apart. I call her:
